Domestic Students
Tuition Fees - Australian citizens and permanent residents only
The information in this section refers to Australian citizens and permanent residents only. Details on fees for international students can be found in the international student section of the website International student fees
The tuition fee that is charged to Australian citizens and permanent residents represents approximately one-third of the cost of educating each student. The remaining two-thirds is met by a combination of Commonwealth and State recurrent grants on a per capita basis and also through church subsidies.
Fees for 2011 will be published towards the end of 2010. Annually, there is a moderate fee increase which reflects the rise in the cost of education. Minor adjustments to the fee structure for 2010 may be made before the commencement of the 2010 school year. Base tuition fees for 2010 charged per term are as follows:
| Year Level | Term Tuition Fees | Annual Tuition Fee |
| P | $1,965 x 4 terms | $7,858 (includes consumable fee) |
| K - 4 | $1,116 x 4 terms | $4,463 |
| 5, 6 | $1,116 x 4 terms | $4,463 |
| 7, 8 | $1,823 x 4 terms | $7,292 |
| 9, 10 | $2,096 x 4 terms | $8,385 |
| 11 | $2,370 x 4 terms | $9,479 |
| 12 | $3,160 x 3 terms | $9.479 |
The Australian and New South Wales Governments provide some financial support for Australian residents attending independent schools. This financial support is not available for international students on student visas. International students are therefore required to pay the full tuition amount associated with their education. Family Discounts
Sydney Adventist College is committed to making quality Christian education affordable to as many students as possible, and for many families, private school fees can be a significant investment. For this reason, we provide substantial sibling discounts to assist families, as well as employer subsidies and a generous scholarship program. To assist families in meeting the cost of education, a direct debit system is available which allows payments to be spread equally across the school year.
Family discounts are available for students who are Australian residents and will be applied on tuition fees only. This discount is calculated on the amount of tuition fees remaining after the application of any other discounts, subsidies and scholarships. Sibling discount applies to any family where two or more children are attending the College or other Adventist Schools in the Greater Sydney region. Sibling discounts are calculated on tuition fees only, as follows:
One child | Full fee |
Two children | 15% discount |
Three children | 30% discount |
Four children | 40% discount |
Fifth and subsequent children | Free |

Payment Options
(Australian citizens and permanent residents only)
Sydney Adventist College creates an annual fee statement at the beginning of the year to assist families with their budgeting. This statement will show all anticipated charges for the year and provide a number of payment options. The College requires an initial fee instalment at the registration day of $1,200 per family. Families who face difficulties making this initial payment should schedule an appointment with the Bursar prior to registration to discuss alternative ways to meet this commitment.
Remaining instalments can be paid weekly, fortnightly, monthly, per term or annually. Each method of payment is calculated to ensure that no monies remain owing by the end of the year.
Parents select their preferred payment plan and communicate this to the Bursar at registration. Plans may include weekly, fortnightly, monthly, term and annual instalments. Payment may be made by cash, cheque, direct debit and credit card.
Variation from a pre-arranged payment plan would need to be arranged with the College Bursar. Students may be withdrawn from class, and College reports and references withheld if payment is not received as agreed. Students may not be allowed to return to class at the beginning of each term if payment for the previous term has not been received in full and no alternate payment plan has been arranged with the College Bursar.
Further information on fee payment is found in the College’s fee payment policy available on request from the College office.
Prompt Payment Discounts
(Australian citizens and permanent residents only)
A prompt payment discount of two and a half percent on tuition fees is applied if the full term's fees have been received at the College by the advertised discount date. It is the responsibility of the fee-payer to ensure fees are received by the school by the discount deadline.
A discount of 10% on tuition fees will be applied if a fee-payer wishes to pay the annual fees upfront in the first term.
Student Aid
(Australian citizens and permanent residents only)
Sydney Adventist College recognises that some families experience short term financial hardship and they do not want this to be the primary reason for students being unable to attend or remain at our school. In cases of extreme hardship, assistance in meeting fees may be available. Those wishing to apply for student aid should arrange an interview with the Principal.
Fee Refunds
(Australian citizens and permanent residents only)
Refunds are given on tuition fees only. Notification of intended departure should be given in writing at least one term in advance otherwise a full term’s fees will be invoiced. This gives the College adequate notice to allow for the position to be filled by other applicants. The refund, available on departure, is the payment amount remaining after this one term’s fees are deducted.
Further information on refunds is found in the College’s refund policy available on request from the College office.
